The Vagabond Camp
von oakieYou come upon a vagabond camp on the far side of the railroad tracks. A group of red, orange and blue tents are set up around a roaring fire. The town's festivities have largely gone unnoticed by its inhabitants, who look like they come from a different era than railroads, entirely. They sit around talking among themselves, mostly ignoring you as you walk into their midst.
An elderly lady in a wonderfully colorful and mismatched attire bids you welcome, though your eye catches a worried face peeking out of a tent, quickly disappearing as you notice it.
