At the Pharmacy
von oakieThe couple met, on a grisly November morning at a pharmacy. She was there to pick up a prescription anti-depressant, which, co-incidentally, he helped develop. He was in line behind her picking up cold-medicine for a flu he had cought that week.
"You really shouldn't be taking that," he said. "It's not all they make out to be. Happiness doesn't come in pills. I should know."
Of course, he should, for, once more, two reasons. He helped develop it and, being of negative disposition, he knew a thing or two about being not happy.
In a bout of commiseration, the two got talking. Soon enough they were sitting in a café complaining to each other first over the weather, but then over their own state of affairs. He divulged intimate details about the ineffectiveness of pharmaceutical wonder cures. She did the same about her aimlessness.
Finally, it had long gone dark, she said "Hey I have an idea!"
